Students often go to school anxious, lacking self-confidence, and suffering from a wide range of social, emotional, and physical health concerns. Clearly, students learn better when they are healthy. Thus health and wellness are an important considerations in getting children properly educated.
The Keep On Pushing Foundation constructed a sick bay at the Drews Ave Primary School. It provides a place of rest during the school day for kids who are feeling physically ill as well as a safe space for the guidance counselor to support those who may be dealing with emotional issues.
Technology has permeated every aspect of our lives and will undoubtedly play an even more important role in the future. Not only will employers expect their workforce to be technologically proficient but being digitally literate will become an essential life skill.
It is often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. With that in mind, Devon Harris became concerned when he discovered that a significant number of students at the Drews Ave Primary School were attending school without that first all-important meal of the day.
